One more thing I found out when using the radio, do not use the contacts when sending SMS messages, it seems to send the message to a contact which is 1 place off in the list in my case when selecting the contact after writing the message (FW 2.2.22). I hope I did not SPAM thousands of DMR users in a talkgroup or two that way

Also, modifying the firmware in binary form is far from trivial. There are no indications what individual things are and thousands of functions. Good luck with that. Also, one does not edit exe files in text editor.
I understand quite well how the firmware authors made the mistake, it is typical off-by-one programming error. The positions are numbered from 1, but C uses indexes from 0.
