It’s been over 25 years since I had my favorite old radio, a Siltronix 1011C. Coupled to a Sigma 5 (I think), it was 5/8 wave vertical with a distinctive cone shaped reflector at the base. With this combination I talked all over the country and Europe on sideband and and I’d like to do it again. Back then, there were hams who also enjoyed the 11 meter band and we had a great time. Lately I’ve been looking for a 1011C on eBay and have come across a couple but, I have been even more attracted to the Yeasu 101… My friend had a Yeasu 101(FE) — I think that’s what it was? So my question is this. Are the 101’s capable of 11 meters without modification or is necessary to have the radio modified? Is the modification difficult? Lastly, which model 101 would be best to suite my purpose? Thanks for reading and I hope someone will help…

No wonder this forum is so boring
