Tyt 8000d radio handheld

Greetings all

I recently bought a tyt8000d handheld radio
I have connction prablom after 1 kilometer i cant receive or transmitte with other friends

I try on both band VHF&UHF
also I try to change the frequency step
But nothing happened

Any can help

1Km is pretty good for handhelds in busier areas. You’d get a bit more on water, or flat clear land, but in a built up town, with brick concrete and steel, half a K would be good. Remember RF like straight lines, with nothing between. So your handheld on the top of a multi storey building goes much further, but if you are in a dip, with only a small hill between you and the other radio, distances are limited. I seriously doubt your radio is faulty. Tell us a bit more about your geography and topography.
