Last year the FCC announced new license applications fees for various radio services. The announcement created some confusion as to exactly when these new fees would begin to be enforced. It was published in the Federal Register March 19.

When will the new FCC license fees take effect?

I got tired of waiting and got my GMRS license this week and had to pay the 70.00. I guess the good news is I am taking my Extra exam and will not have to pay the 35 for that.

The fees aren’t expected until second quarter 2022 at least.
