I have a couple of new RT95’s and often leave them set on scan. The radios will stop and lock on a repeater as expected, but will often resume scanning after a few seconds even while the other person is in mid-sentence. I could understand if the audio stopped, but I don’t understand why it resumes the scan while the repeater is still transmitting and the person is talking.
Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks
Check to see what type of scan you are using. There are generally three types of scan on most handhelds.
This is from the Retevis Solutions website but applies to many different brands:
“TO” also called time scan, means stay on the current channel for a while after scanning the signal and then continue scanning.
“CO” also called carrier scan, which means stop scanning after scanning the signal until the signal disappears.
“SE” also called search mode, which means stay on the current channel after scanning the signal.
It sounds like your radio may be set to TO. I normally set my radios to CO.
