Restoring a 1975 Courier Base Station

I have a 1975 Courier SSB base station that will not power up after sitting on the closet shelf for a very long time. Looking for advise on “where to start” on solving the power problem. The 2 fuses on the back of the radio appear to be fine.

First off, I would get a copy of the service manual if you don’t already have one.

Second off, I’d start probing for voltage with a multi-meter to trace the power circuits. It may also be something relatively simple like a burnt up voltage regulator that you can visually see just by taking the covers off or something more complex like leaking electrolytic capacitors.

Thank you for your response - Good ideas.
