Radios Silent?

I thank anyone in advance for responding - I’m looking at getting the Midland GXT1000VP4 Radios With Headsets and Charger set as well as the clear plastic surveillance headsets made by Midland.

My question is, is there a way to make the external speaker on the radio unit silent - so that the only sound, any sound, would come through on the headset. I’m a photographer and I would like to have a radio/headset to use at weddings to communicate with the other shooters during the event. However, I worried that a beep, scan noise, random glitch would sound out on the unit speaker during a bad moment. If they made the unit without a speaker, it would be even better…

Any time you plug in a headset, the speaker is muted. All you will hear is thru the headset.
