Radios for cycling.

I’m interested in purchasing about 8 radios to allow a team of cyclist to communicate on road races. I’m new to this, could one with expertise help me/ lead me in the right direction to a good purchase. We need good range, earpiece and microphone and a not so heavy radio. Thanks in advance.

I spoke with a cyclist yesterday who ended up purchasing a couple sets of Midland GXT-800-VP4 radios for him and his group. He liked that these models would provide 1-2 miles of range and were waterproof. At close to 9 ounces, they are a little heavier however than the Motorola T9500XLR’s, which are similarly priced.

The Midland AVP-H3 and AVP-H4 are good headset options for cycling. The AVP-H4 will be more stable and comfortable, but may not work with some helmet styles.

Hope this was helpful.
