to help in hearing my newly installed UV920P-A, I got a 3.5mm jack external speaker. I’ve tried plugging into both jacks on the back of my radio, but I do not get any sound out of the speaker. The speaker does work, I quick test on my laptop gave me sound. I’ve tried all the speaker settings in the menu on the radio, and changed ports (there are 2, one each for speaker one and speaker two) to no change. Any suggestions?
Did you check the speaker settings to make sure external speakers are enabled, and not just the hand microphone? Try Menu 24, and select SPK1 for external; SPK2 for microphone only and SPK1+2 for both.
