new to this world and just recently bought a baofeng uv-9g. I installed CHIRP and did all that and programmed the us vhf marine channels and i am receiving sound beautifully but not getting my voice out there at all. really hoping this is an easy fix but this is all still greek to me.
The UV-9G is a GMRS radio and will transmit in the UHF range of about 462-467mhz. It can ONLY RECEIVE in the VHF range. It cannot transmit on the VHF band (marine radio is in the 156-162mhz range.
Is there any way to program it to get around that?
It does not have the hardware to be able to transmit in that range.
You require an FCC certified marine radio.
