I recently got a pni escort Hp 82.
This includes a 12-volt plug for the CB and others to which the external antenna can be connected. My question is, can you also use a jump starter as a power supply for this and what should you pay attention to? I use it for the rally but it is a company car. Colleague has a president who is connected to a jump starter.
Who can give advice.
12v batteries for cars and other uses come in two types. They all have capacity in terms of so many amps for so many hours, but batteries designed for emergency starting cars have cells purpose made to provide LOTS of current for short periods. Leisure batteries have a lower current capability, but they stay charged a bit longer. Any car battery and charger work. Proper leisure batteries work best to keep a fridge in a camper going, but your idea works as long as the one you use has a permanent 12v output.
