Hello Super new to the radio/ Walkie talkie realm & needed to activate noise canceling mic via the throat mic so as to avoid false triggers as ill be in a noisy enviorment didnt know if there was an off the shelf mics that could do this or could I have one built and where could I get this made.
Im working with the Retevis RB17P, I need to stay in the FRS family due to no licenses currently.
I am a little confused? You want a noise cancelling system that works with vox? As in when you speak? You want a throat mic that detects when you are speaking, and turns on the mic? Are you thinking things like Peltor type headsets with active noise reduction in the headset, and a noise cancellation system on the mic element? Vox operation is really troublesome, hence why they tend to have multiple PTT systems. Radio, little buttons on finger tapes, and buttons on the headsets. All this stuff can be made to work on the Retevis radios, but even Retevis’s own headsets are double the price of the radio you have. Peltors, even more than that. The dynamic mics they normally use just are not reliable for vox operation. What are you wanting to do? Anything custom built will be hugely expensive.
