I have a Yaesu FT 7900 R with a DTMF MH 48 speaker microphone. It’s a great radio but I am having a problem with the speaker microphone. I am unable to get any audio from its speaker otherwise the microphone works fine.
Do I need to program anything from the radio to obtain audio from the speaker microphone ?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The reason you can’t hear any audio is because the MH-48 is NOT a speaker mic. It is a microphone only. The audio from the radio is heard through the internal speaker on the top of the radio body or through an external speaker plugged into the jack on the back of the radio.
As a general rule, only HTs have speaker mics.
