Hi everyone!
So I have this old FV200 and for some reason one of the walkie-talkie is not working. Basically it’s receiving all the time but it won’t transmit anything out, so the whole time you can hear the white noise coming from it. Also, and I don’t know if it’s for the same reason, some of the buttons don’t seem to respond, so I can’t change the channel or any other thing apart from turning it on and off. Any ideas of what could be happening?
Thanks
I’m having the same issue. I’ve spent a couple hours online trying to find an answer but not having any luck. Did you ever figure it out?
It sounds like the keylock is enabled in both cases. The FV200 has a key lock feature. When enabled it will lock all the buttons on the radio to prevent accidental key presses. It may have been accidentally enabled at some point.
To unlock, press and hold MENU for a few seconds.
Keep in mind that the Motorola FV200 is a very old FRS radio and hasn’t been manufactured since around 2008. If the fix doesn’t work, you may want to consider replacing the radios.
