I am traveling to Italy.
My question is, will they work?

Technically speaking, as long as they are on the same frequency, they will work anywhere radio waves can go.
The question is whether they are legal to use on those frequencies in Italy. Since the FCC has no jurisdiction outside the US, that depends on the laws and rules of the entity that governs their airwaves. The FCC has a list of links to web sites of government telecommunications in other countries. I think you need to contact the Ministero delle Comunicazioni.
