I have a Morotola PR400 Full-Keypad VHF model HT that I picked up from a local pawn shop (in Ontario, Canada) that already has a bunch of frequencies programmed into it but the PTT button doesn’t work. It will receive perfectly fine when you I use a cheap Chinese radio programmed to the same frequencies but the PR400 itself won’t transmit. Any way to “unlock” it or reset it without losing what is already programmed?
Hi James, it is possible the capability to transmit on those frequencies may be locked due to programming, in which case you will need the programming software to unlock it.
Thank you Rick, I was hoping there was a way around the software, as I’m not very well versed in the functions of Motorola radios. I was just hoping there was a way to get it to work so I can show that it transmits as I only purchased it with the intent of either flipping it or trading it for a similar UHF model for a backup work radio.
