I just purchased, off Ebay, two Motorola “Talkabout 250” FRS rados. Installed new batterys and tested them. The clarity is far better than the Motorola 9500. The wife could not believe the difference. Range is about 1 to 1.5 miles. The Talkabout 250 has much more volume than the 9500’s. The big difference is the clarity.
I paid more for used Talkabouts than the new 9500’s. The talkabout 200 is the same as the 250’s but the 200 do not have scan feature.
