Motorcycle bike-to-bike communication

We are in the process of looking for a good, reliable, clear radio that we can use on our bikes during summer touring season. We’ve tried CB and have given up on that. I’ve found that StarCom1 in the UK has some power adapters for European frequency radios that would substitute rechargeable batteries with the bikes batter/power.

Does anyone have experience with bike touring and two-way radio? if not, does anyone know of a good radio that can has an adapter that enables it to use the bike’s power instead of rechargeable batteries?

I have used CB for 20 plus years, bike to bike, and they worked well if the set up is right. This was with Goldwings so we were interfaced with their audio systems. Some like the Chatterbox line. Good luck with your search.
