I bought the gxt1000 just to be able to communicate with my husband in another part of the house and save steps. The battery on one of the units has not worked well since purchase. Instead of buying new batteries I wonder if it is possible to make the gxt connect to a noaa radio.The reason I ask is that my husband is hard of hearing and never was able to use the gxt very well even when it worked. I thought maybe he could hear and use the radio better. Or, is there some sort of handheld wireless intercom that would suit the purpose, as these are only used in the house.
I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions whether I should just keep buying batteries for this unit or try another kind of radio,
