I’ve had a TYT MD9600 for a while. The radio transmits at 177 MHz for the VHF band regardless of the programming. Similar situation for the UHF band. It seems the frequency calibration has gone south. Any Suggestions Appreciated Thanks Ray
Sadly thats a real fault i feel, needs to go to somebody who might have the knowledge to fix it. Probably a fault in the PLL section.
Could the radio have gone back into FCC lock? I know that when in channel mode, the radio might go to some other frequency when that happens.
Try unlocking it if possible.
Thanks for the reply. Tried for 2 years to fix this. A friend suggested that I download a 3rd part firmware and try. Did not work (same out of band fixed freq). I noticed that TYT recently uploaded a new firmware which I tried and the radio came to life. I tried resetting the radio several times before and uploaded firmware several time before with the same result. Not sure why it worked this time but I’m not going to complain. The radio was like this out of the box when new. Ray
