Got a set of TruTalk model tk138 radios
Have not used them in 3 years. I inserted new batteries and they seem to work.
Can anyone tell me how to set them to receive and transmit?
I have set them to Channel 7 and can send and receive.
Which channel is best to use?

The mode button changes to a blinking 7 and then to oF.

They will scan to 22.

Search for an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file for that model number. Almost every owners manual of things you own are available as pdf format which can then be printed if you wish.
