Working with my new S88G plus, very similar to my S88G, but the provided programming software is different from the original.
Actually seems more functional in many respects, however, appears that memories can’t be cloned between plus and ‘nonplus’ models?
So far liking the new radio, haven’t found any deal breakers…
Question: does anyone use the belt clip? I know the chicks dig them, but other than that?
I use the belt clip because I have a holder in my Toyota FJ and in my SxS that use the clip.
I kind of expected the S88G and S88G Plus CPS to not allow copy and paste between them. The KG-935G and 935G Plus was the same way. When I got the S88G Plus I tried copying from the S88G and it didn’t work. Like you said, not a deal breaker.
I purchased the S88G Plus because of the Bluetooth. What I didn’t realize (completely my fault) is that with the BT activated the PTT is disabled and you have to use VOX. I was hoping to use the BT with my hearings. They pair and I can listen but if I want to TX it has to be via VOX which is not ideal in a noisy environment. I wish they had given the option to use the PTT or a hand mic. It is still a great little radio.
Oh, and if you think the chicks dig the belt clip just try using the wrist lanyard!
Good to know about the BT. I was thinking to use my hearing aids as well; VOX wouldn’t be so convenient, however.
