I have a kg1000+ that will not connect to the computer for programing. The driver for the cable is installed and I have tried using the program on buytwoway and chirp on both a windows 11 and windows 7 computer…does anyone have any ideas?
The two most common issues with connecting the KG-1000G with the computer is either driver related or the programming cable is plugged into the wrong port in the radio.
Check the following:

With the programming cable plugged into the computer, go to the Device Manager and make sure the driver CP210(x) USB to UART Bridge Controller is installed. If not, follow the instructions in the article How to install the Wouxun programming cable and driver. If it is, and the COM port is listed, go to option 2.

There are two RJ45 ports in the KG-1000G/KG-1000G Plus. Facing the radio, one is located on the left side of the radio body and the other is located on the right side of the front panel. If it is plugged into the side of the front panel, it is the wrong port. That’s for the hand microphone. The correct port is the one on the left. It should have a rubber cover marked PC.
