Just bought Cobra Li4900

Hi,

I am thinking of buying Cobra Li4900 radios. I am new to two way radios. This will be my first set. The only reason I am thinking of buying these is that they are on sale in my local store and the sales person said I could never go wrong with a Cobra or a Motorola (more expensive). My primary use for these is to stay in touch with my kids in the neighborhood (will stay with in 1 mile range) and during hiking. I read some reviews and discussions on your forums but did not come across many Cobra radios. Is it a good company. Is it a good purchase for my needs. Or do any of you suggest a different model.

I had a set of these and the belt clips broke within a 2 days took them back and bought some Midland gxt850 5 watt radio and the range i am getting is better then the cobra

Thank you. I have been reading a lot of posts on this forum. Most of the positive reviews came from people with Midland radios and Motorola. I think I will look into those two.
