icom

hi im new and have been given a icom ic-f10

i want to know are these any good i know it needs programming but i need to get a lead for it.

whats a good cheap scanner too.

The IC-F10 is about 20 years old. If you Google around you will find specs and manuals and Icom Canada has some archived information that may be useful. They list it as a business LMR, not an amateur radio.

Whether it is worth the trouble depends on where you are and what you want to use it for. If you are in the US and intend to use it as a business land mobile radio, it may not be narrowband compliant. If you live in Canada or another country it may be useable, however, you will need to check with the agency that governs radio communications in your country before attempting to use it.
