I have 2 Cobra micro talk 2 frs-250 walkie talkies that are about 20 yrs old. I put in new batteries but the audio just comes across as gibberish. You can’t understand anything said. I’m pretty sure that even in the same house, my grandkids used to be able to use them and understand each other. Is there some setting that possibly got changed? They’ve rarely been used over the years but maybe they’re just too old.
One has the voice scrambler turned on!

Yep, that was it! Thx so much! Didn’t even notice that “feature” in the manual. Not sure why anyone would want to use that, but… Grandkids are still here, so now they can play with them. Thx, again!
