I’ve been hooked on two way radio since the 1970’s. First transceiver I had, repaired, aligned, modified was a Pye Cambridge. I was later given a Pye “Transistor” Ranger. It had about two hundred valves in it and the transistor bit was the inverter, which ran on a couple of NKT404 Germanium transistors, that needed changing quite regularly.
