Going to Aruba

I am new to two way radios and really know nothing about them. My family and I are planning on taking a trip to Aruba. We have two little children and a babysitter is coming with us. We plan on using the radios to stay in touch with each other while at the pool but also occasionally at night when my wife & I go out to dinner (close to the hotel of course) and leave the babysitter in the room with the children. Any advice and or suggestions on radios. Thanks

Also after Aruba, we will probably be using the radios down at the Jersey Shore

The Motorola T9500R and the Cobra LI7200 would typically be good choices, as they are almost always good for a mile or so of range. I’m not sure of the two way radio regulations in Aruba, however. Before you take them there, do some research to be sure use of GMRS frequencies is legal.
