fdc 2 way radios opinions pls

Just purchased a pair of these from China. Does anyone else have experience with these particular radios? Just looking for some feedback on them. Here’s the specs on them.

Not legal in the USA, unless they have an FCC ID. They cannot be used.

They are VHF radios which could be used for MURS…but they aren’t type accepted, so illegal there. If they had the Part 15 approval, which they don’t, then they could be used for 2 meter amateur use.

They have no type acceptance for any service in the USA.

Perhaps an expensive paperweight or doorstop… that is it.

what about Canada? I don’t live in the U.S.

Oh… Well they’d need approval by Industry Canada.

At any rate, there would be a sticker indicating approval. Probably not, since the ebay sellers pay no attention to rules.

So does this mean they will get stopped at customs? Or do I need to get them approved? Sorry kinda new to this.

Requests for approval are submitted by the manufacturer. All radios must comply with governement standards and are done by a whole model series, not individually.

Radios can be seized by customs with no refund to you.
