hi,
I’m new on this forum and I don’t have much experience with radio’s.
In my bikersclub we communicate with TK-3101 series.
Today I buyed in second hand a TK-3302, but when I turn it on all the channels (exept 1) gives a continu signal and the led flashes red/orange.
I tried a reset by doing a power on with PTT,side1 and side 2 but nothing happens. Is it possible that he is programmed and protected ?
And how can I reset it ?
The continuous tone and flashing LED indicates the channel is not programmed. Channel 1 is programmed to a specific frequency but the other channels are not programmed. Reset will not fix that. The channels must be programmed to specific frequencies.
You will either need a programming cable and software to program it from a PC or download a manual with the frequency table and instructions for field programming from the radio itself. A third option is to send it to a dealer and have it programmed for you.
The TK-3101 operates on GMRS frequencies. The TK-3302 is a business radio. If you are in the US, you will need to be licensed to use the business frequencies programmed into the radio. If the other members of your biker club are using the GMRS you may need to choose a compatible GMRS radio instead. If you want a Kenwood, the FreeTalk is still an option.
