Simple question to which I’m not finding a definitive answer: I’m trying to find out whether the Motorola DTR410 or similar digital radio can operate in voice activated mode. I understand it has remote monitoring but am looking for voice activated transmission without PTT. Can anyone provide insight?
The DTR and DLR series have no built-in VOX capability, so no you can’t.
Motorola made an external VOX adapter (Motorola HLN9133) for two-pin radios but it has since been discontinued. No guarantees it will work with the DTR radios, but might be worth a try if you critically need VOX capability. (Just be sure wherever you find one will give you your money back or test it on a DTR radio before shipping.)
