Some CB radios with FM now include tone squelch.

Thank you

Need see how equipment I need sell to buy one. Retirement has drawbacks on funding.

On liter side I had my 6 month CATSCAN and I am still good till next scan

Dave

Tone squelch is great to prevent your radio constantly presenting you with other people’s conversations. Really useful when you would like to have it on constantly in case certain people call, but you have no interest in others outside your circle. Is that actually an issue on CB when for most people, their complaint is the lack of anyone to talk to? Tone access on a dead band, let alone one random channel out of 40 probably isn’t needed, is it? Great for big companies, community repeaters, businesses in close geographical areas to others sharing channels - that kind of thing, but the ethos of CB is kind of all for one, one for all. On the FRS, GPRS and PMR446 most of the off the shelf radios use tones to limit what you can hear for convenience?

It only nice if do other work and have CB for friends to contact.

Heathkit was a 4 channel tone others had upto 37 channels.

Even one channel would be nice.

They all had switch to turn off the tone squelch.

This gives a option of having monitor all conversations.

It looks like they were a tad to much output for 11 meters.

Yet you can buy the schematics for 6 bucks.

The schematic I found used a reed relay.

They last made in 1960’s.

Right now I looking at clapper . They made for 12 volts for RVs.

Dave

Found several on the net. I DO NOT know which one you are looking for.
