I love my Tidradio H8-2Gen. But when put aside say, the Baofeng K5-Plius, there seems to be more noise/static on the H8, despite all setting being the same and of course both on the same repeater. Why might this be?

Do you just mean the hiss level is higher? This indicates the receiver is poorer or the antenna is not so good, assuming they are in the same physical location. Static is usually a fault, if you mean random clicks and pops.
Thanks, just normal ‘crackle’ and hiss…seems more at the fore on the Tidradio than on the Baofeng. I guess it might be down to antenna, though I did swap the antenna around and the Tidradio still seemed to have more hiss than the Baofeng??
