Did the FCC cut and run with the enforcement advisory?

In today’s episode of The Two Way Radio Show Podcast, we talk about the recent proposed fine by the FCC against a radio operator who impersonated an emergency responder on a public safety channel. This brought up a related discussion about the FCC enforcement advisory on unauthorized UHF/VHF radios, which mentioned this very type of scenario as one of the reasons the advisory was issued.

The problem is, the advisory raised some questions that required clarification, but although the agency responded to select individuals, so far the FCC has not provided any to the radio community as a whole.

So, metaphorically speaking, did the FCC essentially “toss a grenade” with this advisory and walk away? We discuss this and a whole lot more in episode 129 of The Two Way Radio Show Podcast.
