Hi, I work for the mayorship of a local county in Caracas, Venezuela.
There are 10 times more private security guards than policemen in our county. We want to create a communication network in which these private security guards can communicate with the police. We have a Kenwood transmitter model TK87497818H019048, which in theory can connect up to 250 aprox identified mobile radios. This identification feature is essential for us, we want to know who is communicating so we can use the radios as “pannic buttons” for the security guards, in which they would only press a configured button and we know where they are because we would know which radios are assigned to which posts.
We now want to decide which radios to buy, and we were thinking about the Kenwood ProTalk LT PKT-23 Pocket-Sized Business Two Way Radio, since it has the minimun range requirement of 5 miles and 450-470 MHZ. Can I identify these radios if programmed with the model of my transmitter? The price of the mobile radio would meet our budget, but is there a place we can get a discount based on numbers of radios bought?
I would like to know your thoughts about these ideas and how can this system be improved.
Thanks!
