Church security two way radio situations

Using Cobra Bluetooth PR562BLT Pro Series radios…
and Plantronics M165 Bluetooth earphones…
The problem is that the vox earphones broadcast constantly so that every security person hears everything in the background…music, singing, preaching, people that walk by & say “hello”…
We have to turn off the BLT earphones in order to prevent this…!!
Then we have to turn the BLT earphones back on, wait for BLT to reconnect before we can reply to incoming radio messages…
then we turn the BLT earphones off when message complete…
If we had earbuds / earphones that did not have vox microphones then we could listen to calls & just push-to-talk on our walkie talkies…(leaving one hand free for other use)…
The problem is we cannot find earbuds /earphones that DO NOT HAVE microphones…!!!
We need help with a workable solution…Help…!!!

You are shopping for items inappropriate to your needs. Your dealer should not have recommended headsets designed for smartphones, for your two-way radios.

You need specific two-way radio headsets. Look for 1.5 wire surveillance headsets. They will be discreet and meet your needs without the unreliability of Bluetooth. Quite frankly, I would be reluctant to trust Bluetooth technology in situations where lives may be in danger.

If you decide to get surveillance headsets with acoustic tube earpieces, trust me on this one - get the optional ear molds and throw away the earplugs they come with. That way you can hear ambient sound through both ears.

A 1.5-wire headset has one wire to the remote mic with PTT built in, and one wire to the earpiece. You might also want a 2-wire headset. This has two wires out; one to the mic and one to the earpiece. This is helpful if you like to run the mic up the sleeve of a coat.
