Don’t know the proper terminology but the insert for the cell phone appears to be the same but it is shorter than the ptt from motorola. Can it be done?

Um… yeah and no… Some radios allow for private listening and using a 3.5mm plug (mono only, not stereo), you can do just that. If you need to Xmit, a cell phone headset is not the answer. And all of this depends on the radio guy what built it… Most of these doods are proprietary and connections vary…
