First thing - did you order a computer programming cable? If you didn’t then you will need endless patience and lots of time as they’re very capable, but as a result somewhat tricky to programme.

The Baofeng radios are a bit of Catch-22 for new hams. They’re attracted to the radios because of the price point, but when they get them, they discover they are a ****** to program, partly because of poor manuals and partly because none of the steps are taken care of in the firmware as they are for other radios.
