I’ve followed al the instructions in setting up the DM-1701 with success except for assigning the buttons. No matter which options I select in the CPS to assign to the buttons none of them work on the radio after writing the new data. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I’m jealous because I cannot even get mine to connect to my laptop.
Google Baofeng DM-1701 drivers and install. I also had to install them a couple of times but it finally worked. Use the Baofeng CPS from their website. This all is working for me and then the real fun begins. Learning how to program a code plug from scratch. I had to get a code plug copy from a local fellow ham using the DM-1701 and only then seeing how they had set it up could I enter my own unique settings in the various places. Now all my contacts, zones and channels are just what I needed. Good luck!
