Hi all, just wondering if there might be any CREST members from Australia on the side?
CREST or Citizens Radio Emergency Service Team was very active as a community service back in the seventies…we would regularly work with the regular emergency services organizations across the country and we distinguished ourselves particularly during times of natural disaster, primarily relaying radio messages.
At one stage we had hundred’s of members, CREST died a slow death mainly due to the influx of idiot users and the federal governments failure to give the emergency frequencies the proper protection.
It would be great to catch up to any remaining CREST members, before its too late.

I would check with Sherif and Police. Most cities and countries have laws about emergency communications including channel 9. I may not say 9 but any some using emergency communications that is not then be arrested.
Where live I ask my grandson who is a officer with Next door city about . He said 9 is not monitored by police but the Sherif handles channel 9 and the get about two real calls a month.
So if someone on channel 9 and is not emergency call the Sherif and they locate the radio.
