Hello everyone. Wallace Martins de Guarapari, Brasil
Hello I’m new to the forum. I’ve had my ham license since 1995 and recently got hooked on GMRS.
Hello My name is Rondall from Tennessee. I’m new to the forum and to two way radio.
Hi all. Long time Floridian, new to the forum. Any CB radio enthusist here?
Hi everyone, Glad to be a new member. I am here mostly because I came across my collection of vintage CB radios that I bought at flea markets about 20+ years ago. Plus because my late father had a CB in his 1965 Ford Falcon when I was a young teenager. The car was stored in garage for 38 years, but now it’s in my name. I’ve got the car running again. But it will take some time to get it roadworthy again. The magnet mount antenna is still in the car. Stored in the trunk, but I can’t figure out where he routed the antenna wire. I need to remove the rear seat, to see how he routed the wire, and if it’s still intact. As I can’t find the antenna plug under the dashboard. The CB was removed, and I still have it. But there is much more to discuss, as before my father installed his CB radio in this car. Someone with a CB radio came to our rescue when I was 9 years old after the car my father had at that time, had a major accident. The steering tie-rod of his 1969 Chevy Nova broke, and he lost all steering control at 70 MPH on the NE extention of the PA turnpike. The car impacted the embankment and rolled over 3 times, with me and my entire family inside. This was 1974, and nobody wore seatbelts at the time. Although my memory is vague, I still still remember a lot of this accident. My late mothers change purse must of burst open, as I still remember seeing coins sliding up the front windshield then raining down on us all as the car hit the embankment and it happend a few times before the car came to a rest. We sat in the car, partially on the roadway, for a while. Before someone stopped to help us. The man was driving a van. And he called for help using his CB radio. And we were glad when an ambulance arrived first and state police shortly afterwards. I believe this was the reason my father installed a CB radio in his secondhand Ford Falcon. As the man that stopped used his CB radio to call for help. We all survived the accident with only bumps and bruises. The car was totaled. I will continue my thoughts and questions in another subject. But I just wanted to thank that unknown person for stopping and rendering us aid. And we were so glad he was able to contact someone on his CB radio, and get us medical services and police, when everyone else just passed us by. God Bless the man who stopped to help us…
Good Morning. New member here from Arizona.
Looking to learn a lot inside this forum.
New Old guy here, I am somewhere between Seattle and Portland OR. Left coast USA.
My Name came from Daisy Duke ( Kathy Bach). it came from a hat I bought when I worked with her for a week. Back it the 80s. The hat said Four Wleelin Fudpucker. So the name stuck.
My two radios are a Uniden Pres. Grant. My Mic is a D104RB. A CB radio hero back in the 70s installed a second modulation board in 7 Asatic D104s. I have one of those, I know that two others had them into the 90s. The rest were lost to time. The guy that just check out both radios said his neighbors told him to turn the gain mic gain down. That radios does not have that function ![]()
The other one is a Whistler 900, which no one seems to have ever seen since it was made in 1987.
Ive CQed about the planet for several decades, then got busy with life and now its time to make noise again.
I can not believe all the radio stuff I used to know is now ready for me to learn again. But then Life is for learning according to Joni Mitchell.
