Apparently a user of the Baofeng DR-1801UV can set up an “Alias” that includes call sign, location and name that will show up on PRN Talk Groups. I currently use a local PRN repeater and all it displays is my ID.
I thought of using the “Fast Message” feature for this, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to link this to my contacts.
There is a note on page 23 of the user manual that references “Alias” without any follow up explaining how do do it.
The software I’m using is DR-1801A6 and it works quite well, but I see nothing there about “Alias.”
Anyone here have a clue?
