How can you store preset FM radio stations in this radio… I hope you can or I will be returning this radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you talking about commercial FM radio stations?
(The KG-UV8D is a ham radio. Moving this thread to the Amateur Radio Category.)
Assuming that you are referring to the built-in commercial FM radio, the KG-UV8D will store the last station you listened to as a sort of “preset”, however there is no specific feature to program multiple preset channels for commercial FM broadcast radio stations. This comes direct from Wouxun.
It is important to keep in mind that the built-in 76-108 MHz FM radio is merely intended as a separate, value-added feature of the radio (as it is with most other handheld transceivers with this feature) and is not its primary function. The KG-UV8D is designed to be used as a two way amateur transceiver, and it’s a very good one with some very powerful features, especially for the price.
It’s designed for transmit and receive operation on frequencies in the 2m/70cm bands. It is also capable of cross-band repeat operation, which, while limited, is rather impressive for a sub $200 handheld. The addition of a commercial FM radio is just a little extra icing on the cake.
