Santa on the WAN

I don’t know how many of you out there knows this, but there is a Wide Area Repeater System out there called the WAN repeater system.

It’s goal is to cover a wide area in case of a emergency and to link up individual repeaters to generate more radio traffic.

It uses a system called the All-Star nodes, along with WAN repeaters.

This is not a Echolink type hook up.

Anyone that builds a All-Star node - even a simplex node is welcome to join in the fun.

Last nights festivities included a visit from W3BC and the Quad County Amateur Radio club and Santa.

Radio amateurs were welcome to join in and talk to Santa along with their children. It was a fun time for all.

Normal Hamshack net activities usually occurs around 7 PM on Wednesday nights.
Along with the regular Monday night nets that starts around 7:30 PM.
