Part 95 Reform to become effective September 2017

Okay, we reported on the FCC decision to completely reform Part 95 back in May, and even covered the proceeding live on our blog and on Twitter @2WayRadios. We also discussed it on our podcast.

The question was when it would go into effect. Well, now we have the date.

I see it as a good thing. Especially the part where manufactures can no longer market “combination” radios. It will clutter up the FRS/GRMS frequencies with everyone pushing 2+ watts, but the true GMRS frequencies will become usable. I foresee the price for true GMRS radios going up.
