Ah… the FCC is a USA only agency… it has NO authority in Canada. No licenses are required at all for GMRS in Canada
Am totally frustrated with this model. Unlike my old Midlands, we constantly have a problem in a large group with other FRS radios. We can hear each other on our gxt1000’s and can hear the transmissions of others just fine but no one else can hear us!! I have combed the manual and changed settings to what they should be to work but no dice! any help appreciated. I also struggle with the stiffness of the waterproof button as I never know whether I have pressed it hard enough to transmit. 
I’ve problem with New Midland GXT1000. when the power was turned it on, on screen show " ln ln " . I’m not sure if the wording is “ln ln” or “1n 1n”.
After that, all button are not function properly. just like " hang".
Please help me !!!
