Midland GXT1000 Bluetooth Capable?

I am a high school & college football official. We use the Midland GXT1000 for our on-field communication. Currently, I use a standard wired ear piece w/boom mic for my headset. I have to run the wire(s) under my shirt & down my back to connect to my two radio. I HATE THE WIRE(S)!!! They simply get in the way and restrict movement on the field. I’ve done a bit of research on possible options in an attempt to make my radio bluetooth capable. So far, the best option I’ve found is to use the Sena SC10 adaptor. Using this option, there is still a wire to connect the adaptor to the radio.

Has anyone attempted to make a Midland bluetooth capable? If so, what did you use? I have no clue as to all the options available. Thanks in advance for your time & help.

The problem is that the radio isn’t bluetooth - so your only option are the adaptors that plug into the mic socket. I suppose you could put the radio into a pouch and tuck the bluetooth adaptor into that so nothing dangles - but that about sums up the options. If you could live with cables, then a rear mounted radio and a security style eartube and clip on mic could be the easiest.

In the entertainment industry we often have to hide cables on stage, and the wardrobe folk are brilliant at building in things to the costumes. where a costume has to come off, WITH the radio mic permanently attached to it, they simply add in a slim strip of material that the cable can thread down - sort of half a tube with the costume fabric on the outside and the new material on the inside. The sound folk thread the mic cable down the gap and can remove it fairly easily, but the thing can be put on and taken off easily with no tangles, and it doesn’t badly damage the material. They often use the iron on adhesive tape you use for hems.It doesn’t chafe and the person wearing it forgets it. I would guess this could be done to your game clothing without destroying it.
