Hello, I drive truck and I used to have a kenwood radio with more then sufficient coverage. Now I just got a Motorola xpr6550 two way radio(handheld) but it doesn’t have enough coverage. So my question is that is there any way I can connect my handheld radio with truck antenna? Is it possible somehow?
This is a commercial radio. Are you using it on amateur radio frequencies or using it on your company’s business frequencies?
Either way:
Just add an external antenna on the top of your truck. There are adapters that connect an HT to a mobile antenna. But an antenna designed for the frequencies you are operating on… no big deal.
An HT will never operate correctly inside a truck without an external antenna.
