I am looking for something with a 5 to 10 mile range (10 being the max)
A base unit would prob be needed at the house.
I would like something for the auto’s that could be taken in and out perhaps easily.?. I say this as I don’t want a $200 radio sitting in the combine, or grain trucks for 10 months not getting used. One in my pickup could be mounted.
My terrian. gently rolling hills. Town is 3 miles from my house, fartherst corner of my fields would be 5 miles from the house.
Do the hand held units have enough umph for something like this? Could a booster or antenna be added to them to give them that umph? If not costly those items could be left in the equ.
