Advice for 4m operations

Hi there

So all ready for 4m UK operation.

I have tried an old Phillips 1000 but it promptly died and is not worth repairing, so the question is what do people use, converted Low Band ex commercial radios or something specific for the band?

Thanks in advance

Chris
I’m

There were a few low band new radios - TYT and retevis, but they have been discontinued leaving a few hand-helds and one mobile. My customers who still use low band for business hate the remaining Anytone because it cannot be locked to a single frequency and accidentally pressing a button puts it into VFO mode. I’ve not seen any second hand low band units for a long time now - the few around are crystal controlled and a bit useless. UK motorsport still have a low band frequency, but are struggling with finding radios. The TYT/retevis 9000 radios were really good. Sometimes they come up on ebay.
